I actually get this all the time from parents, « Well, I would feed a children more fruits and won’t eat them. It’s not my fault…  » Agh! I cringe every time I hear that.

Buy foods which might be as close to nature as is possible. Remember you vote with all your dollars. If you keep investing in it, companies keep making it feel like, and stores stock their particular shelves of foods which will make your kids sick.

I’m able to speak from experience with my 3 year outdated. Every 4 months or possibly even longer she will test us and will refuse to eat anything by dinner. I can tell you she eats a very good breakfast. One more tip. Don’t buy the processed food. If it’s not in the house it’s not a choice.

Even if it’s not your preferred thing they have to see that you want it. But don’t more than do it. Like « MMMM this really soooo good! Johnny it is important to try it, YUM!  » Youngster’s will see right through that.

Hopefully they get a bit more vegetables than fruits and veggies. When my girls started out on solids I brought them only vegetables for the first 2 months after that slowly gave them fruits. Now at ages 1 and 3, they usually eat their vegetables earliest. Other parents gasp whenever they see that, « How did most people get them to do that?  » They ask amazed. The answer is easy, « They eat what you impart them with. « 

This is certainly mostly due to diet and lack of exercise. Two important things that you as a parent get complete control over. I realize you don’t want to be responsible for most of the poor health later, so you will need to start paying attention today.

It’s not as much the kids. It’s up to you. What you may decide to feed them now will shape what they will want to eat the rest of their lives. If you teach them the importance of healthy foods right now they will automatically eat much better when they go off on their own, and they will live a much healthier life.

If they are not wanting to eat it to assert their autonomy let them know this is what is for evening meal, breakfast, etc and you are not going to make them something else. Also make sure they know there will not be any snack foods after dinner. And adhere to it! Don’t worry; you are not going to starve them. The lessons here is so huge.

They will have no personal preference but to eat fruits and veggies in the event you stop buying crackers, snacks, cookies, ice-cream, or various quick frozen treats just like pizza rolls or popular pockets. Don’t forget to read the brands! Steer clear of anything with huge fructose corn syrup, excessive sodium, saturated fats, and trans fats.
